Thank you so much for our time at Dwight Elementary! Even thought it was a brief time spent with you, it was very helpful in how we can help children break down words and let them have fun doing so. I loved how the children had manipulatives to use while breaking down the words and how you used upside stove burner covers to make a close magnetic space for the children to use with their letters. Thank you so much for allowing us to be able to observe the children and you interacting!
Phonics is an area I do not fully understand yet, but I feel I understand it a little bit better after visiting Dwight Elementary. The visit gave me great ideas for my future classroom when working on phonics. Thank you so much for the opportunity to interact with the first graders during a time of testing.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with your students one-on-one. I enjoyed the activity you provided us with to work on on phonics. It was interesting to see the students work through the process. This activity will be added to my must have for my future classroom. Thank you again for your time and help.
Thank you two so much for allowing us to come into your classrooms and see Phonics in action! I was in Ms. Jones' room and the activity we did with the children was a new one to me. Not only do I now have this activity in my repertoire, but some vocabulary that is vital to the success of my future students. I am elated to have this experience under my belt and thoroughly appreciate the opportunity! Again, thank you ladies!
Thank you to both of you for allowing us to come and see your classrooms. I loved getting to work with the students one-on-one! For a minute, I felt like a real teacher because the students knew what to do when I said certain words (e.g. build and break). I understand phonics a little more now and I saw a few things in Mrs. Pruitt's class that I would love to incorporate into my own classroom should I teach Kindergarten again. Thank you again!
I had a really great time observing at Dwight! There were several things that I observed in both classrooms that I hope to incorporate into my own classroom one day. I really enjoyed watching the children build the words. I like that the children were asked to build words and then were able to use that knowledge to build words that sound alike.
Thank you so much for allowing us to work with your students at Dwight. I really enjoyed being able to work with the students one-on-one. It was nice to see a method that we had been taught at Tech being used in the actual classrooms. I enjoyed seeing the students being able to build the words, break them down, and sound them out. This will definitely be a method that I will use in my future classrooms.
Thank you so much for allowing us to work with your students. We understand that your time is valuable and we appreciate it so much. Your students were very well behaved and respectful. The activity we used to work with the students was fun and educational at the same time. Again, thank you so much for allowing us in your classroom
Although it was a very short time, I enjoyed my visit at Dwight Elementary School! I thought that the activity we did with the first grade students was a fun, yet challenging one for some! I would like to thank Ms. Jones and Ms. Pruitt for allowing us to come into their classrooms and work with their students. It was a wonderful experience!
Thank you so much for providing this wonderful opportunity for us. I really enjoy working one-on-one with students. I love the activity we did with the students. I can see myself using this in my future classroom. Also, thank you for providing the hand-out for us. Again, thank you!

I enjoyed my time at Dwight Elementary so much! I was able to see a phonics activity that was very engaging for the little girl I worked with. I loved working one-on-one with her as well as observing other students in the classroom. Thank you for opening your doors to us and letting us interact with your students. I could tell that the activity was fun for them and I really enjoyed letting them build the words, break them apart into the onset and the rime, and then write a different word on the dry-erase board. It was a great learning experience!
I would like to thank Ms. Jones and Ms. Pruitt for the wonderful hands-on experience they provided each of us by allowing us to work one-on-one with their students. It was extremely helpful for us to practice effective phonics activities that we can use in our future classrooms. Both of the students I worked with were very sweet and eager to show what they know. I really enjoyed seeing the many ways students practice their skills. Thank you again for such a positive experience in your classroom!
I really enjoyed this observation the most. The phonics lesson activity was great to observe.I would incorporate the lesson we observed in the classroom at Dwight Elementary because I feel the students would learn more efficiently and faster with a hands on activity. The students have to think as well as using their hands and objects and speak orally to the teacher. It is a great way to teach and establish understanding with phonics. Great lesson Mrs. Pruitt and thank you for the opportunity to observe your classroom!
I am very thankful for this experience. I really liked being able to work one on one with a student. I was a little nervous at first but after seeing Mrs. Pruitt work with the students I felt a little more assured in what I was doing. You were great with the students and I loved being able to see the way you worked with them and helped them. Thank you for answering all of our questions and allowing us come into your room to observe you and work with your students.
Thank you both for hosting our class. I enjoyed learning from Mrs.Jones' phonic lesson. It teaches students to break a word down into the sounds they hear in the word. This is a way that I will use in my classroom one day. This lesson also used words that rhyme. Since most students love rhyming, the lesson can be used with many different sets of words. I wish we had time to visit both classrooms. Thank you again for having us.
A special thank you to Dwight's 1st grade teachers, Ms. Jones & Ms. Pruitt for providing us with such a positive hands on experience with your students. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
Thank you so much for allowing our class work with your first grade students! The time was valuable to me because I feel more comfortable teaching phonics. I enjoyed using the magnetic board and letters and will definitely use this technique to teach phonics in my future classroom. I appreciate your time and enjoyed the experience! Thank you again!

Thank you both for opening your classrooms to us on Friday! I really enjoyed working with the student I had in Ms. Jones' classroom. It was a great opportunity to see the phonics techniques used in the classroom. The student I had was fluent with the procedures of "breaking the word" and pronouncing it while pointing at each letter. I will definitely remember using the white board and magnetic letters. It was a great learning experience!
Thank you for allowing us to visit your classroom and work with your students on Friday. The onset and rime lesson was a great way for us to see a hands-on activity for teaching phonics. The student that I worked with was very polite and responded well to working with me. This was a great learning experience.
Thank you so much Ms. Pruitt and Ms. Jones for allowing us to come to your classrooms on Friday! I really enjoyed working with your students one-on-one. I learned a great deal about working with students on Phonics. I had never worked with Phonics one-on-one with a student, and this opportunity was extremely helpful. I loved the boards and magnetic letter idea the Ms. Pruitt used with her students! I thought that was a brilliant and easily accessible for students to practice their Phonics skills. Thank you so much for allowing us to work with your students and learn from you!
Thank you so much for letting us visit your classrooms. I felt like this experience was very beneficial. I was in Mrs. Pruitt’s room. I had never seen an activity like this in a classroom. I loved the activity because it is hands-on and helps the student see connections between words. After we were done working with the student, Mrs. Pruitt answered any questions we had. She was very friendly and genuinely expressed that if we needed anything ever or had questions to come by or email her. I think she is a wonderful teacher, and would be an awesome mentor teacher.
Thank you so much for allowing us into your classrooms! Phonics is something that I worry about teaching to my students because there is so much for us to cover. The onset and rhyme activity is an activity that I can see myself using in my own classroom. The student that I worked with was very well behaved and was fully engaged in learning. I know this experience was very beneficial to my future as a teacher!
Thank you for the opportunity to come into your classroom. I enjoyed working one on one with a sweet young boy. He was very respectful and cooperative. The activity gave me experience in how to teach phonics in a hands on and fun way. I look forward to using this in my classroom. Thank you again for allowing us to working with you and your students.
Ms. Jones and Ms. Pruitt, Thank you both so much for letting us come and work with your students. I now can say I love phonics because of the activity that Mrs. Jones had us do with her students. I thought it was very fun and the little girl I had the chance to work with soared in the activity. The activity was really easy and fun for her to do. The activity in Mrs. Pruitt's class sounds awesome too. I really learned a lot in a short time. Thank you both for having us!
